Conejo Valley Mothers & More - Chapter #261MissionMothers & More is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of mothers through support, education and advocacy. We address mothers’ needs as individuals and members of society, and promote the value of all the work mothers do. Read our full mission and beliefs and what we do. For more information about our national organization, please visit our national website at www.mothersandmore.org Our Chapter The Conejo Valley Chapter of Mothers & More was formed in August of 2002 to provide a support group along with social activities for "sequencing" women throughout the Conejo Valley and surrounding areas in Southern California. Sequencing is defined as mothers who move in and out of paid employment and/or opt for a variety of flexible work arrangements in order to successfully balance their work and family responsibilities. This fluid work pattern, which occurs over a number of years at various stages of motherhood, is known as "sequencing". The term sequencing was coined by Arlene Rossen Cardozo in her 1986 book , Sequencing. Our membership consists of a diverse group of women who have transitioned in and out of a wide variety of professions. It is our goal to provide you an opportunity to connect with like-minded women, attend social activities for both children and families, explore parenting and women's issues through monthly meetings and overall to help make this time in your life more interactive and fun. Our chapter is relatively new and was founded in 2002 by Diane Read. Since then, our chapter has grown to over 40 members. Through Mothers & More we enjoy the benefit of being connected with over 6000 likeminded women throughout the nation. We offer support and opportunities for moms--both stay at home moms and moms that work outside of the home-- to establish friendships by connecting with other moms through informational and fun meetings, play groups, moms' night out, book clubs and more. Chapter Meetings We meet every second Thursday of each month at 7:30pm at the Westlake Village Civic Center, 31200 East Oak Crest Drive, Westlake Village, CA. Meetings are open to the public free of charge.
